It is with sadness that we announce the forthcoming retirement of Dr Cormac Denihan.

Dr Denihan came to Lichfield Street Surgery in 1991 and has served the Walsall town centre community for 31 years.  He became a partner in the practice in 1992 and has helped the practice grow and develop over the years.

As well as providing clinical care to his patients, Dr Denihan has been instrumental in shaping the careers of 100’s of medical students through his training and affiliation with the University of Birmingham Medical School.  He has taught students at all stages of their training and has also been a trainer of new GPs for 16 years.

He will be sorely missed by his fellow partners, surgery colleagues and patients alike.  Dr Denihan always has a tale to tell and we will miss his anecdotes and Irish charm.

Dr Denihan’s last day in surgery will be 6th July 2022.
