Medical Records Access

From 1st November 2022, all patients aged 16 or over will have the ability to automatically view all new information added to your electronic GP record from that date onwards.

Any information on your GP record dated on or before 31st October 2022, you will still need to request access for this.

You will still be able to submit a Subject Access Request for copies of your medical records if you wish to.

What does this mean for you?

  • If you already have full online access...

    If you already have access to your full records, your access will remain the same.

  • If you already have "core" online access...

    If you have limited access to your records, you will automatically be able to view new information added to your GP record from 1st November 2022 onwards. This includes consultations, results, and documents.

  • If you don’t already have online access...

    If you don’t already have online access, whenever you sign up to the NHS App you will be able to view new information added to your GP record from 1st November 2022 onwards. This includes consultations, results, and documents.

  • For children under 16yrs...

    For children under the age of 16, who have an NHS App account, you will automatically be granted access to your GP record once you turn 16.

  • For new patients registering after 1st November...

    For patients registering with the practice after 1st November 2022, you will be able to view new information added to your GP record from your registration date.
