COVID-19 Vaccine Priority Groups

We understand that people are eager to get the COVID-19 vaccine and we are receiving numerous calls on how patients can access the vaccine.

  • Priority groups for vaccination in this initial phase of the vaccine programme are determined by Government following advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) and include those in groups 1 to 4.
  • When it is the right time for you to receive your vaccination, you will receive an invitation to come forward from either your GP or via a letter from the national booking system.
  • We know lots of people will be eager to get protected but we are asking people not to contact us to get an appointment as you will not be able to get one until you are contacted.
Updated Guidance on Second Dose Vaccine

The guidance on when people should have their second dose of the vaccine changed. This is why we had to rearrange some second dose vaccines. We will contact you when your 2nd dose is due.
Please see below the updated guidance from MHRA, JCVI and the UK Chief Medical Officers which was published to advise increasing the spacing of second vaccine doses for both the Oxford/ AstraZeneca and the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine.
This decision allows us to get the maximum benefit for the most people in the shortest possible time and will help save lives.
